What would we pay for one set?
This is a guide, not an offer. Where a set falls within the 50% to 75% range depends on its condition, completeness, instructions and box. Market prices change, so we recalculate the value using current BrickLink data on the day we evaluate your collection.
Sealed sets
Unopened sets are priced using BrickLink's new six-month average sale price, with the same percentage range. Retired sealed sets can sometimes be worth more than their original retail price, and we'll take that into account.
Minifigures
Minifigures are identified and valued separately using their BrickLink IDs. A rare figure can sometimes be worth more than the set it came from, while common figures are usually valued together as a lot.

Used sets: 50% to 75% of the BrickLink six-month average
What the six-month average means. BrickLink is one of the world's largest marketplaces for secondhand LEGO® sets and parts. Its Price Guide records completed sales, so the six-month average shows what a particular set, in used condition, has actually sold for over the past six months.
We use that as our market benchmark and convert it to Australian dollars. You'll see the figure we used beside every set in your Initial Evaluation & Offer, and again in the Final Evaluation once we've checked the collection.
Where in the range a set lands. A complete, clean set with its instructions and box will usually sit towards the top of the range, up to 75%.
Missing instructions or packaging, worn or yellowed pieces, damaged stickers, or missing parts can bring the figure down towards 50%. We show the percentage applied to each set and explain why.
Why not 100%? The difference covers the work involved in checking the set, sourcing missing parts, cleaning, photographing and listing it, along with marketplace fees and the risk involved in resale.
It also means you can sell the collection in one go, rather than listing, packing and selling each set individually over time.
Where parts are missing, the cost of replacing them through BrickLink may also be deducted.
Loose or incomplete LEGO®: $10 per kilogram
What counts as loose. Anything that can't reasonably be sold as a complete set. This includes mixed tubs of bricks, part-built models, sets missing too many pieces, and bags of loose parts with no identifiable set.
Sorted or unsorted, the rate is the same. A bit of dust is absolutely fine. We clean and disinfect pre-owned LEGO® before it is resold through The Brick Box Australia, so you don't need to scrub everything before sending it to us.
We take pride in selling clean, good-quality LEGO®, so pieces are checked and prepared before they go into the store.
What we weigh. Genuine LEGO® only. We exclude non-LEGO bricks, broken or heavily chewed pieces, and anything that isn't a LEGO® part. Tubs, bags and boxes aren't included in the weight.
Minifigures are removed before weighing and valued separately. Common figures may be priced as a group, while rare or notable figures are valued individually.
What we don't buy
A few of these mixed into a larger collection is fine, we'll simply exclude them from the final evaluation. If most of the collection falls into one of these categories, we may not be able to make an offer.
